AFS Group partner with Cronulla JRL



A week out from the beginning of the 2022 Junior League season, Cronulla JRL continue to build its partnership portfolio. In adding to the growing amount of national and local businesses willing to support Rugby League in the Cronulla – Sutherland area, Cronulla JRL are excited to announce that AFS Group have come on board to provide their security services and assist in the role out of our Independent First Aid Officer Trial for season 2022.


AFS Group has been operating for over 30 years in a range of sectors including event management, tourism, training and security and are the National Rugby League’s current provider of Sports Trainer & First Aid Training. Locally based, AFS Group are also in partnership with the Cronulla Sharks and are excited to partner with Cronulla JRL


Matt Harrison, Group CEO at AFS Group stated “AFS Group are proud to be partnering with Cronulla JRL for the 2022 season. We look forward to working with the clubs first responder volunteers to share our extensive first aid knowledge, providing them with support and ensuring the safety & wellbeing of any players injured throughout the season. We hope the trial of an Independent First Aid officer is something that will continue into the foreseeable future. AFS are also proud to be working with the clubs by providing our qualified security personnel throughout the 2022 season.


Chairman of Cronulla JRL, Nathan Waugh commented “To have AFS Group come on board to assist our volunteer base in providing First Aid just adds another level to the care we are trying to deliver to our players. The fact that AFS Group has expertise in a wide range of fields also means that Cronulla JRL will be able to use their services in many facets of the Junior League throughout the year."


The partnership between Cronulla JRL and AFS Group will see the ability to further support our volunteer First Responders by assisting them with an Independent First Aid Officer under a trial basis for the 2022. This will see AFS Groups’ qualified staff present at Junior League grounds throughout the year to assist our volunteers manage any injuries sustained during games. This is on top of Cronulla JRL already funding the cost associated with volunteers attaining the required qualifications to attend to any injuries or illness in a Rugby League environment.


Added to this, AFS Group will be providing qualified security personnel at Cronulla JRL events throughout the season including Semi Finals and Grand Finals later in the year.
