The Bosco Bulldogs who up until just 2 years ago had not had an Open division tackle team for almost decade, this year found themselves with competitive sides in both the Open Gold and Open Silver divisions.
Earlier in the season both Bosco teams sat a top of their respective tables and they dared to dream of taking the elusive double however after the Bosco A-Grade side bowed out in the first week of the finals, it was all up to their second grade side to get the job done.
After being undefeated all season just like the Bosco side of last season it all came down to one final showdown against Como Jannali to determine this years Open Silver Champions.
Como Jannali cam to play and after running in the 2 opening tries of the match the Bulldogs were shell-shocked and it looked as if an upset could be on the cards. But the Bosco boys gathered their composure and got themselves back into the match midway through the first half after retaliating with 2 tries of their own.
Spurred on by a vocal Bulldogs contingent, the Bosco side didn't look back going on to claim historic back to back premierships in the Open Silver division with a convincing 20-8 victory over the Crocs.
