Following the split of the Power Waste Management Silver Cup after 5 rounds into "A" & "B" competitions the Aquinas Colts maintained an undefeated record on their way to being crowned 2023 premiers.
Despite being undefeated, the Colts endured some stiff competitions from the other teams in this division which included Engadine, Cronulla Caringbah, Kingsgrove as well as their Grand Final opponents Riverwood.
In both of their previous 2 encounters the Colts had defeated Riverwood by 32 points and could have gone into the Grand Final seemingly expecting a similar result. But in the final couple of weeks of the competition Riverwood had grown in confidence and after defeating Kingsgrove in Week 1 of the finals put on a dominant performance in week 2 to account for the Engadine Dragons.
On Grand Final day, Riverwood continued their good form and remained competitive throughout the contest but ultimately succumbed to the dominance of the Colts who won the match 32-18 in what was a very entertaining match.
This Grand Final match was played in fantastic spirit and was a fitting conclusion for the colts on what was a flawless season.
