Re: Competition Structures – U17 competition reinstated
Attn: All members, players, referees and parents of the Cronulla Junior League
In relation to the decision by the Junior League to no longer offer an U17 competition from 2020 onwards, we would like to apologise for any confusion.
Based on recent feedback following the previous media release, the Board and I met recently to review the strategic decisions made at the December General committee meeting.
Upon review the Board have decided, based on a multitude of factors, that in the best interest of Rugby League in the Sutherland Shire, we must rescind the decision not to offer an U17 age group this season.
We have therefore informed all clubs last night at the 2nd General committee meeting of 2020, that we have reinstated the U17 competition. We will be offering this age group to all players.
We ask all clubs to issue this information to their young members and families as soon as possible to ensure these players are fully aware of the situation.
Again, we apologise for any confusion and hope to see many of our U16 players returning to play footy this season.
We thank the clubs and their members for their involvement and feedback during this process.
