It takes true commitment and dedication over at least 20 years for any rugby league player to achieve 300 games. It's an even greater milestone and privilege to be able to do that for one club.
Last Saturday afternoon, Mitch Roberts did exactly that running out for St Josephs in his 300th game against De La Salle in the Open Gold match at his home ground Kareela Oval.
Mitch has been hailed as true club man and becomes only the 3rd player at St Josephs to achieve the 300 game honour for the club. As part of reaching this milestone, Mitch was also bestowed the honour of becoming Joey's 17th life member.
De La Salle won the match 20 points to 6 which currently sees them top of the Open Gold ladder with just 3 rounds to go in the shortened 2020 season. While Joeys didn't get the win on this occasion, they hung tough and put in performance worthy of the occasion.
From everyone at and associated with the Cronulla JRL, we would like to once again congratulate Mitch Roberts on this great achievement.
