SG Ball Sharks fall short against the Eels

While the under-17 Sharks had a bye last weekend, the SG Ball team went down to the Eels and are now sitting in eighth position, making their round seven match against an undefeated Raiders outfit almost a must-win game should they hope to qualify for the under-19 Finals.

Going down by 20-16 to the Eels in their most recent encounter, the Ball Sharks scored in just the first minute of the match, went to half time with the scores locked together at 12-all, with the Parramatta team scoring twice in the second period to come away with the result.

This coming weekend, the SG Ball Sharks, their season and finals aspirations go on the line, while the Matthews Cup Sharks will look to consolidate their position inside the top six when the two Cronulla junior representative teams travel to Canberra to play the Raiders this weekend.

The opponents for the SG Ball Sharks this weekend in the Raiders are a perfect six from six this season and will present a formidable challenge for the visiting Cronulla side.

In the Matthews Cup match, the fifth placed Sharks sit one point behind the Raiders who are third, with the game shaping as a evenly fought contest between two highly rated teams.
