Jr Rep Round 2: Eels Edge Sharks Girls at Home

The Sharks’ female Junior Representative teams returned to Ocean Protect Stadium for Round 2, hosting the Parramatta Eels in what proved to be a tough afternoon against a strong opposition.

While the results didn’t fall Cronulla’s way, both the Lisa Fiaola Cup and Tarsha Gale Cup squads showed resilience and commitment in front of a healthy home crowd.

It was another challenging outing for the Sharks’ Under 17 side, coming up against a powerful Parramatta outfit. Despite the result, the effort and determination within the group remains evident.

Across the opening two rounds, the team has faced quality opposition, but there is no shortage of heart in the squad. The foundations are being laid, combinations are continuing to build, and there are clear positives to take into the coming weeks as the season progresses.

Tarsha Gale Cup

In a genuine arm wrestle from start to finish, the Tarsha Gale Sharks went down 10–6 in a heartbreaking contest.

After last week’s impressive win over Newcastle, the girls brought strong energy and intent into the clash, matching Parramatta physically and defensively throughout the afternoon. Several attacking opportunities came agonisingly close to producing points, but in the end, the Sharks were left to rue missed chances as the Eels held on.

It was a performance full of effort and determination — one that suggests the squad is not far away from putting together a complete performance.

Both teams will now regroup and turn their attention to Round 3 against the North Sydney Bears away in Kenthurst.
